It begins with what she touched as a child - stones, shells in the sand, the bark of trees. Look closely and every painting is a landscape of cracks.
Again and again she frames her paintings with plain bands on either side. The edges are the everyday world. The column between them is a sacred space you look into.
A sun. A moon. A seed. The circle returns in painting after painting - wholeness, the origin, the point everything grows from.
Water flows, fire rises, light pours down. Her strokes move like music - she says every stroke is a note.

Over the years her colour has quietened. The same idea - balance, light, the horizon - is now painted in black and white. Expression has become contemplation.
